BBKA members can get sugar from Bookers. Sometimes it's cheaper than on the High Street, sometimes not.
I purchased some this week for £22 for 50 kg. Is there anything better?

Ive been getting 39p/kg from poundstretchers all year.
It's made by a chap called Mamhood
Not sure of the scientific values but it's much sweeter than british stuff.
Blowlamp gas, marigolds and plastic storage boxes are the cheapest around too.

Its a good price...but if I take into account the amount of diesel my truck would use to get to my nearest Booker, plus the time taken by me...I find my nearby Lidls at 67p kg costs about 2p kg more and saves me over 2 hours travelling.

I'm tempted by this amazon order of 25kg at 80p kg...delivered to my door...no faffing around with 100+ x 1kg bags ......

Popped to local booker, it's advertised at 15.50 but when you buy two and go to tills , it's 2 for £22. 👍🏻

Jazz, with the amount of sugar you will need with your beehives you will spend more in petrol checking it out to save a few pence....Although it is certainly the signs of a true beekeeper trying to save a few pence on his sugar ration. ;)

As It looks like I need a trip to Abelos this week for some more kit I might take the opportunity to get some from Bookers in York which is now only a short detour...

Haha I'm going to Costco for coffee beans, whisky and carrot cake anyway

You're right though, I need more hives ;)

Costco sugar prices - Tate and Lyle:
One x 25kg bag - £9.95 (approx 40p/kg)
15 x 1kg bag multipack - £6.89 (approx 46p/kg)

Bought two 15 x 1kg multipacks 8-)
