As some of us are expecting warm weather next week, it's worth preparing for it. Mini-nucs can overheat and the colonies abscond so if the queen is mated, it's worth putting queen excluder over the entrance to keep her in. I have lost small colonies this way and have also found them on the grass late in the day surrounding their clipped queen.

When the Mrs sees the best bath towels draped wet over those ' silly little polystyrene boxes ' on the shed roof she will flip.

Is yours in direct sunlight then Alfred? I have mine next to a fence, under the stand it was supposed to sit on top of. Keeps it shaded with a little sun on the entrance.

Due to feral grandchildren mine has to be high up which can only mean the shed roof
It gets full light until evening.
I suppose I could make up some fake hedges with planters around it.
Shes probably gone already-lady luck used to be a friend of mine
