The Open University has a free introduction to microscopy course (Lasts about 3 hours) and is fully online. You can also download the material in PDF, Ebook and Doc format.

You need to just register. It is quite a good introduction to the topic!

Thanks for the info.
It's along while since I used my microscopes. Unfortunately the high magnification one has more or less seized up so is unusable. Maybe a winter job to see if I can fix it!
