The picture was taken on the 24th March..it has finished flowering now..the location is around half a mile from the Alnwick coast..j

I had that app but after around ten picture id's it stopped working and wanted wonga

At first glance I thought a Tree Mallow cultivar, but if its just stopped flowering it isn't that. Also the leaf looks wrong.

No expert on wildflowers of Northumberland but my guess is its a garden plant seed spread by birds.

You know what threw me off was not having anything to judge the scale by.
Though I'm sure there are a few with larger leaves and flowers I've only ever seen the very small leaved ground cover/fence climbing sort.
When I was a kid the house we lived in had the whole front of the house covered in it under every window and round both doors.
The bees and wasp loved it. At the time I hated it cause I was 5 and anything that buzzed filled my heart with terror. lol
