Bearding?

Hello all - have a poly hive with a gathering of bees on the landing board and entrance this evening. Starting to beard or just cooling off?

There's not really enough information here to be anything other than very generic.
In warm / humid weather bees will often gather on the outside of the hive to allow the other bees inside the hive to circulate air to dry off honey or keep brood cool - then as the temperature drops they go inside.
Alternatively, it can be a sign that your hive is getting over-crowded and that can be a pre-cursor to swarming.
