So the queen cells hatched and one got successfully mated. Thats great news

Thanks Chris, the bees almost always pull it off don't they, no matter how cack handed we may be as beekeepers.
Cheers, Mick.

Well my colony that was queenless now has 2 frames of eggs and loads of polished cells, bees were also bringing in loads of pollen.

Cheers, Mick.

Although there was emerged QC,s I never saw a new queen. Last week it was obvious they had laying workers and drone brood in the super. Colony now thrown into the bottom of the field. I placed a new hive on the site and put a frame of eggs from another colony with frames of stores as an experiment. I really didn't want to risk laying workers gaining entry into my other colonies in that apiary.
So more experience gained. No idea what happened to a possible virgin queen. maybe she never got mated and got bumped off, got chilled on a mating flight, got eaten, got lost, who knows ?
It will be interesting to see if they manage to raise a queen now. probably a waste of time but I am doing it to learn. lets see.

Cheers, Mick.
