Although don't they face in oposite directions therfore the direction that will be optimal for one south facing with some sun exposure will be not for the other which will be north facing and will get no direct sun on the entrance.

But at £529.00 it's most than triple the cost of 3 bees on a budget hives from Thornes !

Or you can buy 4 complete Abelo National Poly Hives each with 2 Supers and still have change left over.

Call it three and and all the frames. Your bees will love you for going poly.

Abelo have a sale on occasionally too.

Thank you for all of your inputs but hopefully someone who actually has a Beehaus will give their view soon.

Maybe someone on here will have experience but this system looks rather like an "just add bees" one and I doubt serious beekeepers will be interested. At the end of the day you are very limited when it comes to hive manipulations. nationals, commercials etc work on a simple building block system for the very reason that parts can be added and are simple and fully interchangeable.

We have one in the association apiary along with an original dartington. Neither are used and are there for show. A mate has one but he only has the one which was his first hive purchase, when he wanted to expand he just bought normal 14*12 boxes instead. I seem to think he found that he really liked beekeeping but the beehaus isnt very portable and although he didnt think he would want to move it, occassionaly it needed moving and it is diffcult.
