The BBKA will be launching a second petition to coincide with the National Honey Show in October to specifically ask for changes in legislation so that every jar shows the country/s of origin. A blend of EU and non EU honeys is not acceptable.
The BBKA will also be launching a National Honey Day on October 21st to highlight the issue to the public.

There is a talk, a live webinar, about the subject - free but we need to book - on Wednesday 19th October at 7:30pm.

For me, to see a jar that contains EU and non EU honey, it means that it could contain just about anything in there. And probably not much real honey, sadly. Maybe the talk will give us more information.

Probably a waste of time seeing as Boris never done a real BREXIT and we are probably still shackled to the eu laws on labelling.

Without wanting to get into politics, it looks like the Truss government is going to shake things up a little! However there's so much inertia in government that to change anything takes a lot of effort and a honey label may not be at the top of the list.

Have you all signed?

https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/624402/

When you have, go and look at how many people have signed in your area! the mapping is really interesting! Has it been sent out via your association?

If you can share it with friends and family to sign, advertise the petition whilst out selling your own honey then please do!

Looks like they aren't going to get the 10,000 signatures needed for a response. Little change in numbers since I signed 2 weeks ago, still stuck in the 6000K.
More importantly we should be assured any imported honey is genuine honey.

I don't know what sort of press releases the BBKA has done to date, but some media outlets would probably report the campaign if another round of news was announced and that would help push up numbers.
The more the government is nudged, the more likelihood that they will do something.
