The first and last time I used that stuff it killed loads of unsealed brood and made the bees aggresive..

It also "melts" ploy hives....
Usually far too cold to use this time of the year (up North), however this year has seen high temps well into Sept.
Apivar strips for me, expensive but effective.

Not seen that; sometimes bees cocoon it in propolis so it is probably not too effective in that case.
The weekly dose is OK if you are going to be at an apiary anyway, as it's quick enough to administer, otherwise it's a pain having to go back. And it can result in the queen going off lay or some brood mortality.

As far as hive damage is concerned, MAQS strips the galvanizing off hive roofs if you leave a pack on the top.
