My bees repair the comb but, I would say that some frames we have spun out too quickly (roughly) have still remained a little deformed!!
Good idea re clearing boards as they aren't cheap and not much in them either?! I won't ask my husband to knock a fe up as one occasion he made a substitute snelgrove board for me but cut out a hole in the middle!! : :o

Cover the hole with wire mesh. Snelgrove boards usually do have a hole so bee pheromones can pass between top and bottom boxes so you can unite both half's without faffing around with newspaper or air freshener etc.

Yes I did cover with wire mesh but I honestly didn't notice myself at first!! ! :)

I've used the air freshener a couple of times now and although I hate the smell personally, the bees seem to mingle in together without murdering the queen!!
