Anyone have experience/good ideas about cleaning pollen collected from a pollen trap? There is quite a lot of debris, bee parts etc so not fit for sale as is. The commercial pollen cleaners start at just under 2K.....which is not an option.
Unlike Alfred I don't have a spare Lear Jet to sell to finance this project :D

From what I've seen the cleaning consists of a series of riddles/sieves of different sizes and then air blowing over it to remove the smaller bits. But nothing from google about any defined methods that I can find.


Then you need to reduced the moisture content....that seems to be the easy bit /wry grin/

I cant remember the brand name but it was a known UK honey producer whose pollen was on sale in the middle aisle of Lid-aldis for a couple of quid a pot.
It had a long expiry date and apparently nowt wrong wi'it
Not much help there NP but if thats the going rate????

That is quite helpful Steve, thanks. t more or less confirms what I'd found out already that its a fan and riddle job.
Me thinks if I get the project off the ground it will be more than a couple of quid a jar :D
