After a miserable day of extracting a quarter of the supers i did last year one box was nearly full of pollen...the box was nearest the brood nest below the excluder ..anyway four frames where almost full of pollen so rather than melt them down and loose the pollen i thought of Nigel's idea about freezing brood frames full of pollen to feed the bees in the spring if the weather is poor..so here we have it eight pure pollen patties in bags and now in the freezer for spring if need be..this has got to beat the extortionate prices of pollen substitute..

PS tried to post a picture but it would not work..i will try on my phone..

Blimey, that's what I call well organised especially bagged and frozen for future use, very resourceful and will save a pretty penny!!

Best add a disclaimer that they're only for the colony that produced them or we'll have the bee police after us wagging their fingers.

Surely in this day and age we are told we should 'all share the wealth' irrespective of who has worked or made this product??!!
I won't tell :)
