I have just changed my avitar from the 'flower pot man' to the 'spotted woodpecker' as it was clashing with bobbysbees avitar who was using the same before me. Only fair!
Native and now very rare in Ireland, yet they seem to be taking a new foothold. A beekeeping buddy the other side of my mountain has one visiting his bird feeder. I saw one at my feeder, hence the choice.
As far as I now, the spotted woodpecker does no harm to hives, the green woodpecker holds that honour.
