In The Times today,
Research suggests that buzzards demolished about 24,500 hornet nests in an area of the northwest Galicia region in 2018. The research has also shown that the Galicia population of the honey buzzard has tripled since the hornet’s arrival and that the average number of offspring per pair has also increased.

Lots of buzzards round us....but carrion feeders. Numbers increased due to "sportsmen" on tame pheasant shoots and the birds pick of the road kills.

Honey Buzzard is a separate species to the much more common Common Buzzard. It is a rare breeding summer migrant to the UK, with perhaps 50 breeding pairs.
