Worm like maggots.

Does anyone know what these are on a inspection board..the biggest one is roughly 10mm long..around 50 of these are on the back part of the tray and most are dead..

Just been looking on Google and I have narrowed it down to wire worms which are larvae of the click beetle..God knows what they are doing on the inspection board though.

Possibly warmth and debris to feed on?

The diet of them is normally grass/plant roots and potatoes causing them to be pest for gardeners..we had a mild spell 2wks ago so i am guessing the eggs that where laid by the adult beetle emerged around that time and now the frosts have returned it has started killing them..normally the wire worms would be in the soil deep down where the frost can not reach them..
