Cheers for up date Chris.
Bad news and bad reporting "a single hornet can completely devastate a hive....
ho hum."

Well at least it is in a mainstream paper and who said there is no such thing as bad publicity?
I sat in on a Zoom meeting with Lynne Ingram as speaker on the Asian Hornet and commend the work of the Somerset beekeepers in promoting AHATs.
She did say that Asian Hornet numbers had dropped this year in Galicia and the Channel Islands but one of the departments I monitor in Brittany is warning of a record year!
I have seen lots of wasps, which is what I expected but few hornets (so far).....

@Andrew

Same here, a mass of wasps, far more than normal, they started earlier as well but then dipped in the middle bizarrely.

I've not seen one european hornet and I've not caught any in traps either. Most years I'll catch one maybe two in wasp traps
