Experienced beekeepers will be aware that oxalic acid treatments are very much best when there is no sealed brood for the varroa to hide in so the treatments may not be too effective in some southern parts of the UK where a complete brood break is unlikely. With the UK expected to become warmer, the research below might be of interest to enable better management of varroa during the colder - but not very cold - months.
