My flowering currant is just showing some red and there is a dandelion on the back lawn.

Seen some pussy willow today. Game on. Nice and warm after lunch so checked a few boxes. Usual mixed bag - all queenright. An overwintered nuc although with fondant on was horribly light and small, another I thought knackered has really taken off strongly.

Blackthorn is fully out, every colony looks to be piling Willow pollen in but I can never find any Willow in my area so god knows where its coming from, I would love to know how far away. Looks like the odd bit of late hazel mixed in. Snowdrops and crocus have just vanished overnight.

Tropical Teesside-sur-la-mer.
Our Daffs are just coming into bud, Crocuses are out but more to come into flower Snowdrops still out but nearly finished. Hazel catkins appearing not yet ripe and blackthorn is months away
Amazing the difference 30 miles and 400 feet in elevation brings.

We're led to believe daffs are of no value-is that really true?

I was always led to believe the same Alfred from previous reading over the years..however the theory of previous reading was slung out of the window this year..it may depend on the type of daffodil flower but in the earlier spring my bees where collecting pollen ten fold from the Daffodils in the planters..

The Scottish borders but pretty high up. We get a good view over to the top of Cheviot on a clear day

The willow wood is well away now but it was far too windy yesterday to get any clear foraging bee pictures even though the wood was humming with bees.
