First Queen wasp spotted in this neck of the woods today luckily for it my hives are not near where I am living at the moment.

But was it a common wasp or the German wasp?

Common wasp - Vespula vulgaris

Notice the different pattern on the back. Smaller than Vespula germanica

And who said Beekeeping was just about bees!

It was a Waps Queen regardless of being common/Geraman or Bolivian..had nothing but trouble with them over the years mainly when pulling supers..the little gits seem to fire the bees up more than they would be without wapses..
