I had a brain and sight failure this afternoon and put a brood box together with one of the handles on the inside. Sigh.

I am assuming I will need to fill this hole somehow or another otherwise the bees will helpfully do it for me :-) What do people suggest? Thornes Langstroth wooden brood box.

Putting a handle on the outside is easy!

Thanks!

Ian

Ya can't take it apart and reassemble then?

If not, some wood filler of some kind

Or does it really matter? I don't think the bees will mind.

Better luck next time

Welcome to the forum Ian,
If the box is glued, I would be inclined to leave the handle as it is and only fill it if I found that it was causing a problem.
But if the box is not yet in use would it not be easier to rectify than once it is?
The worst that can happen is that they put comb in there and anchor it to the frames - could be a real pain over the life of the box if you keep having to cut down with the hive tool to get the frames out.
I think I'd try to cut a scallop of wood and nail/glue it in
"Brain and sight failure" - seems to be happening to more of us more often these days :D
