How many seasons do you good folk get out of them before replacing them..or do you just bin them and buy new every year.

Some lids crack/fail so don't last more than 2 or 3 years. I have some 3 gallon fermenting buckets which I purchased from a local homebrew shop and they are excellent, with a flexible lid that seals well - I've had them for about 5 years and they are as good as new.. And so far, no fermenting has occurred in them!

I have had that happen Adam with lids splitting as they seem a bit brittle and rigid from some suppliers..regarding them 5 Gallon brewing buckets..i use the 23L buckets for making mead and the lids do seal well and the plastic they are made from is much more flexible.
