I think I might stick another trap out... I think I may need next door to get rid of the nest they have in their bamboo....
yep, a wasp nest next door might certainly cause issues for your bees and I would think your neighbour to. A dusting of ant powder would do the trick with the wasp net.

Would the wasps not carry the ant powder into my hives they are robbing?
I supose thats a very good question but not from my experience. I do however dust late into the evening when dark so the wasps dont attack me, this would mean they wont be flying to my bees either

Saw lots of wasps around too.

Having now got a spare for every piece of equipment, except the suit, the veil fell to bits today.
No inspection for me

Yep, Ive got three suits now and a pull over hoody type. This is the most important bit of kit to have a spare of.

Cheap suits don't seem to last too well. I have recently purchased a new BJ Sherriff suit after the old one pretty much wore out after a LOT of wear over a number of years.

Checked hives on moors, first signs of nectar in supers and they are drawing the undrawn frames (always a good sign). The effects of heather beetle can be seen with large areas of brown flowerless heather. Thankfully in the 5, 000 or so acres they have to forage over there are still plenty of pink bits with more to come.
I hope.
Fingers crossed.

My £30 jacket with veil from ebay seems to be working OK, but is wearing quickly...

May have to go for these triple layered vented things - when the bees earn me something!
