Yip it is that time of the year again when the bees are starting to build up ready for the spring flow.. all colonies where treated the same in Autumn with Apitraz/Amitraz for 7wk's then vaped with oxcalic acid just after Christmas..all where clear of Varroa ? mid February apart from one colony that kept dropping the odd one here and there..

This said colony had a single vape at the back end of February and up until now nothing varroa wise has been spotted on the inspection board..that was until i randomly checked the trays today ..all where clear apart from this one strongish colony..needless to say it was vaped today and it will be for the next 4/5 weeks till i see none of those little red parasites on my nice clean inspection trays..

Good idea Steve, gave some of mine a blast at the weekend so will have a look work permitting this weekend to see what dropped although the forecast is abysmal, 50mph+ winds. Won't be anything flying while I pull the trays that's for certain.
