What’s best budget cedar national hive to buy? Have looked at Caddons and Simon the Beekeeper and they look to be good quality.

I have bought Thornes Bees on a Budget Nationals, and they're fine; made in the UK too. I can't coment on the others although I had a Caddon WBC some time ago and it was also OK.

Maisemore Rock Bottom kits are great value,although I have made up a whole hive minus the frames from flatpack seconds pre ordered for collection at a show

Maisemore rock bottoms or sale items - their "2nds" are still really good quality

I bought 10 Thornes national brood box 2nds in the winter sale and they were brilliant. Not a single flaw in any of them. I usually make my own but no point when they are that good.
