Anyone else enjoying the company of inquisitive charges?
I have one lot that want to investigate everything I do!

Followers is something that I don't want to encourage. I have noticed that on occasions, soon before a swarm, bees are looking all over the place - in crevices around the house, for example and they can be a slight nuisance. My wife complains (I don't know why!) if one follows her into her car and she takes it on a journey.

When you say 'followers' are you talking about aggressive bees or inquisitive bees ?

I had a similar one last year Alfred. Often hanging around the entrance when all others indoors, apparently flying in even poor weather and lively without any sting fest. Those weren’t overly bad followers in that they didn’t seem particularly aggressive. They collected a better than average crop too.

I rather warmed to them tbh 😁.

You get hives with large differences in the distance of their "defensive" perimeter. If they greet and don't bother...good luck. Worst ones I had greeted you a few minutes after walking out of any door in the house and attacked.
Needless to say they were moved elsewhere and queen RIP.

It could be the 'Lynx' effect :D
